Has your home or business been hit by the recent hail storm or high winds that swept through the 7 River's Region this summer?

After hail stones make impact with the shingles on your roof, granule loss will be evident if the hail was large enough to damage them. Most of the time, this damage cannot be seen from the ground.

We will inspect all potential storm damaged areas and work right alongside your insurance company. We will always provide you with a honest assessment of the damage.

We will work up an estimate for you on the damaged items and provide a copy to you and your insurance company.  The only cost to you for repairing the damage would be your deductable.  In most cases we can even upgrade you to a higher quality shingle at no additional cost to you.

THE FIRST STEP is for you to call us at 608-783-3101 and have us inspect you home for storm damage.  We will advise you if it is worth putting in a claim with your insurance company. The next step is to contact your insurance company to open a claim.

From there we will meet your adjuster on-stie for the insurance inspection so that nothing gets missed the adjuster or our inspectors.  After your claim is approved we will set a time to go over all the details any upgradable options that you may want to consider. Once products are picked out the next step is to get the work done. In most cases we can replace a residential roof in one day. We have a team of 5 skilled installers that will work sun up to sun down to get your roof replaced.

After the work is completed we conduct a final inspection with you and then assist you in getting the claim closed.  We will work closely with you, your insurance company, and your mortgage company to make the process go as smoothly as possible.

BEWARE: Beware of storm damage companies that solicit you. There are many companies that only work in storm situations. Many of them will automatically tell you that you have damage, even if none is found.

Companies like this will promise that they can get your roof and/or siding replaced for only your deductable. The problem is that if no damage is actual evident and a claim is filed, you can see an increase in your insurance premium.  The other problem is that most of these companies will replace your damage items with the cheapest products and the cheapest labor so they can profit more. Do not sign anything with a company that you did not invite to your house. For a company that cares about reputation, integrity, and honesty, call First American Roofing and Siding today at 608-783-3101.

Is there a hail resistant asphalt shingle?

Some shingle manufacturer's process today incorporates a rubberized SBS polymer that helps create a more durable and longer lasting shingle that provides protection in extreme weather conditions.

One way to know if a roof covering is impact-resistant is to look for Underwriters Laboratories’ measuring stick: the UL 2218 standard. The UL test involves dropping steel balls of varying sizes from heights designed to simulate the force of free-falling hailstones. Four impact-level designations will help you compare products: roof coverings that show the most resistance earn a Class 4 rating; the least, a Class 1 rating.

You put a lot of time, work and money into your home. Naturally, you want to use the best products available. In terms of roof coverings, this means a UL 2218 rating of Class 4. A Class 4 rating tells you that a sample of the product did not crack when hit twice in the same spot by a 2-inch steel ball, which, in a storm, would translate into quite a hailstone. With most insurance companies you could see a 5%-10% reduction on your insurance premiums when you choose a Class 4 rated roof covering.

We have a variety of impact resistant shingles available! Give us a call today or send us a request for additional information!
